Enriquez, CIF Coastal Division champion at 285, went 1-1 in his first two matches. But Enriquez battled back to beat Sherman Norton of Del Norte (1-0) and pin Elk Grove’s Brandon Hamilton in 1:57. Two local athletes – Mayfair High’s Richard Alarcon and Juan Enriquez of Glenn – remained alive Friday after the first day of the CIF State Wrestling Championships at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield. Alarcon, a two-time state qualifier at 119 pounds, opened the competition with a pair of victories.
